My follow-up with the infertility specialist was yesterday. No exam, so I got to keep my modesty intact....for once! We went over all the tests I had done, and everything looked good. All my bloodwork was normal; however, they did suspect that my testosterone levels were high due to my medical history, but since I was already on metformin when they did the bloodwork, the levels had stabalized.
We are still awaiting the results from Jeff's semen analysis before they will start any type of treatment. They are gonna put me on clomid to help with ovulation...which does result in a higher rate of mulitiples....and depending on how Jeff's little swimmers are, we could jump straight into IUI. I have another follow-up in three weeks in which they will start treatment and we're hoping that by the end of this summer we will get the results we are so desperately hoping for!!!!
In other news, Jeff just called and said they are transferring him to a temporary command over in Norfolk and he has five days to check out of his current command. He is also on limited duty for 6 mos....which means absolutely NO DEPLOYMENTS!!!!!!!!!!!

Last Week
Last week was a crappy week....so much going on and none of it good. I'm really hoping this week will be better.
After about 2yrs of suffering from back pain, the idiots we call doctors around here....the ones who are suppose to take care of and ensure the health and well-being of our service members....finally ordered an MRI for Jeff. We got the results on back on Tuesday. He has a herniated disk and....surpirse, surprise...running prts, lifting weights, wearing gunbelts and kevlar vests the past two years has probably only made it worse. He's already on light/limited duty for the next several weeks and has an appointment next month with an orthopedic specialist to discuss further treatment options: definite physical therapy, light/limited duty for at least 3 months, and possible surgery.
Due to this and another medical issue that only our families know about, Jeff is no longer deployable....YAY!!!!!!!...that's about the only good thing that came out of all this....and since his command is a deployable unit, he is essentially useless to them, so he will most likely be transferred to a temporary command within the surrounding area in the next several weeks.
Saturday night...after spending most of the afternoon at a car dealership looking at a new vehicle....we were we were double-checking our budget and pulled up Jeff's LES. Lo and behold, his next paycheck and the next four after that will be $300 short....turns out that the Navy will be taking back some advanced travel pay they gave him since he was sent back over 3 wks early from a school he was attending in Gulport last July....that's right, nine months ago.....so they are gonna take it back over a period of five paychecks. You can do the math.
And no they didn't give us advanced notice they were gonna do this....no they don't care if we'd be able to pay our bills or not....basicly they just don't care. Luckily, we do have a savings account which we will have to dip into to get by, but I don't have any intention of blowing straight through all our savings this summer so we are gonna be extremely tight on money the next couple of months. Needless to say, no new vehicle for us. What pisses me off even more is that Jeff inquired about it earlier this year and they said he didn't owe anything. I really hate the Navy right now!

"The Best Part of Waking Up"....
....."is Foldgers in your cup."
ok....not really. I don't even like coffee....or waking up for that matter. I tend to be grumpy first thing in the morning. I'm definetely not a morning person.
However, when my sweet little girl crawls into bed with me, curls up in my arms, lays her head on my shoulder, and tells me "Mommy, I wake up. I slept good," it's a whole different story. Now that's the best part of waking up! And the best way to start a new day!
What's even better are weekend mornings....when Jeff is still in bed. She wakes both of us up and we cuddle and laugh and joke and carry on like that for a good 20 minutes....or even throw pillows off the bed like we did this morning. It doesn't get much better than that!

My Day
So what does the wife do while the husband actually has to work a full day for the first time in months? She catches up on all her housework...and then some!
-cleaned kitchen
-finished organizing the paraphanalia in and around the desk
-dusted the desk
-dusted the furniture in the living room
-scrubbed both bathrooms
-took Jessica outside for 20 minutes to play and blow bubbles
-vacuumed
-swept and mopped
-walked on the treadmill for 30 minutes
-made Jessica lunch and put her down for a nap
-took a shower
-told Jessica to quit playing in her bed and go to sleep, lol
-called the infertility clinic to schedule a follow-up appointment. No one answered....left a message.
-heated up leftovers from last night for my lunch and sat down to watch episodes of Ghost Whisperer for a well needed break
-finished putting away the few articles of folded laundry from last week
-threw all the dirty laundry downstairs to start all over again (it never ends!)
-finished cleaning our bedroom
-started a load of laundry
-danced in the living room with Jessica
-made grocery list for tomorrow
-took down our bedroom door, closet door, and hallway closet door
-spackled uneven spots on doors on door frames (sidenote: will sand them tomorrow!!!!!)
-spackled holes in hallway going upstairs
-started another load of laundry
-sat my ass down!!!!! My house is now the cleanest it's been in over a week!
-and laughed at my child...she claims that her name is no longer Jessica Rylee Moore. "It's Duck....quack, quack!"

Please Undress From the Waist Down.
Women despise this phrase. But hearing it about five times in the past six weeks, it starts to become comical. I actually laughed when the nurse said it to me this afternoon. She understood though. I mean, seriously, I couldn't count on one hand how many different people have seen "everything" the past several weeks, lol! You sorta start to lose your modesty!
Anyway...the pelvic ultrasound was to see if there were any cysts, tumors, or abnormal growths on my uterus and ovaries. There weren't. The nurse said everything looked good! Since this was the last test I had to have, I will be calling the infertility clinic tomorrow to schedule another appointment.

I Almost Forgot!
My HSG procedure on Friday....first of all, I NEVER want to have this procedure done again. The nurse said I would have some period-like cramping when they insert the catheter and expand my uterus.....haha, that was a joke, right?...let's try cramps almost as bad as labor pains! Thankfully that part only lasted about 5-10 minutes and the cramps disappeared as soon as the doctor was done. He reviewed the x-rays with me and one of my fallopian tubes was partially closed but they were able to open it up when they injected some more dye. Hopefully this will help us out with TTC and I plan on discussing it further with the infertility specialist!
Easter Weekend
Our holiday weekend was wonderful! We spent both mornings playing at the park with Jessica and the rest of our time relaxing at home. I cooked a delicious Easter dinner for us including honeybaked ham, loaded baked potatoe salad (a new recipe I wanted to try), mac and cheese, green bean casserole, and fruit salad. I even tried a new dessert recipe--strawberry creamcheese pie. It turned out ok....Jeff seemed to enjoy it more, but he's also a bigger fan of cheesecake than I am.
We started a tradition with Jessica passed down from my parents in which the Easter bunny hides your Easter basket, so part of the fun on Sunday morning is finding it. Jessica found hers hidden in the dryer and after a couple of hours, we realized that the Easter bunny left her waaaaay too much candy! It took her an over an hour to lay down for a nap yesterday!
Jessica helped me crack and peel our colored eggs to make the potatoe salad and deviled eggs. She actually peeled two whole eggs by herself, and after I helped her rinse them off, she presumed to eat both of them!! She's so picky about what she eats lately that I was surprised she liked them....but at least I know she got her full serving of protein for the day!
We also decorated some yummy homemade cupcakes to look like Easter baskets. We dyed some coconut green for the grass and used jelly beans for the eggs and shoestring licorice for the handles. They turned out really cute except the licorice kept falling over so we just took it off.
Oh yeah....I did take pictures of Jessica helping me with the eggs and cupcakes and also of her finding her Easter basket, but it died on me while she was pulling all the goodies out. I'll download and post the pics if I ever remember to buy more batteries when we're out!

That's what time Jessica woke us up. All of a sudden I hear her voice and she's standing in our bedroom door saying, "I need to sit on the potty." I jumped up and hurried her into the bathroom where she did indeed have to go potty. I was VERY surpirsed that she actually woke up to go since we've only been potty-training less than a week!
And she's been doing AMAZING!!!!! She's been wearing "big girl panties" (with Dora on them, of course!) since Friday and has only had three accidents...one was first thing that morning which I expected and the other two were simply because we didn't make it to the bathroom in time. She's already wearing her panties at naptime and staying completely dry, and even though she does wear a pull-up or diaper at night, she's been keeping them dry on most nights too!
I never imagined I would have so many emotions over potty-training! I'm so, SOOOOO proud of Jessica for doing so well! I'm excited cause our budget will benefit from not having to buy that many diapers or pull-ups anymore...or maybe none at all....which means more money to save or spend on other things, lol!! And I'm a little bit sad realizing that she's not a baby or even a toddler anymore....she really is growing up on us!

The Month of Many Appointments
My appointment yesterday went good. The doctor performed a quick examination and then we discussed my medical history. Not very many answers yet....as the doctor put it, it's hard for her to give me answers when she doesn't even know what is wrong yet, so she gave me a sheet detailing all the procedures and tests I would be having done and helped explain them to me. She recommended getting them all done by the end of my current cycle, and luckily I was able to schedule all the appointments for the next couple weeks.
The first is bloodwork that has to be taken on Day3 of my cycle to test about half a dozen different hormone levels. That was today, by the way, and I actually didn't pass out!
I have to have a pelvic ultrasound done which will be done the weeek after next.
