I was looking for some sayings or quotes about military families to put as my blog description and this is what I found:
Communication Breakdown…
The reason the Army, Navy, Air Force, and Marines squabble among themselves is that they don’t speak the same language. For example, take a simple phrase like, “Secure the building.”
• The Army will put guards around the place.
• The Navy will turn out the lights and lock the doors.
• The Air Force will take out a 5-year lease with an option to buy.
• The Marines will kill everybody inside and make it a command post.

Another 3 Day Weekend!!!
So Jeff's command (his cheif and higher-ups) decided that they'll all have Monday off. Why, you ask? Because Sunday is the SuperBowl, and they all want to have a good time and not have to worry about coming to work on Monday with hang-overs, lol! I don't know what to say...they make everyone work late the past three weeks, but heaven forbid, they have to worry about how much they drink while watching the big game, so to remedy the problem, let's just give everyone a day off for recovery so they can party it up on Sunday.....crazy how the military thinks sometimes, huh...they definetly have a 'work hard, play hard' mentality! It's actually sorta funny though and at least I get an extra day off too since I won't have to watch the kids! YAY!!!!!!

One of Those Days
Ever had one of those days where you just feel 'blah' and don't really want or have the energy to do anything? Well, today is just one of those days. I finished the few things I had left to do on the house yesterday, and the past two mornings I have been up at 5:15 to walk a mile & a half on the treadmill before Noah and Kylie get here....I think it's catching up with me. Even though the kitchen needs to be cleaned, the living room and computer desk need to be dusted, and the floors could use a vaccuuming, all I really want to do is put a movie on and curl up on the sofa with the kids for a couple of hours. I think I might boycott doing housework today!

A Working Weekend
I thought the whole point of having weekends was to have time off to sit back and relax. Well, we did have a little time to relax, but most of the weekend was spent yet again working on the house. I'm not complaining though cause we got a lot accomplished!
Yesterday we painted the downstairs hallway. I also tore up the caulking around the counters in the upstairs bath since it was coming apart from the wall anyway, and in the process I messed up some of the paint, so I had to apply spackle and wait until today to sand it, wash it, and re-paint over it. While I was up there I finally touched up the some 'holiday' spots and the edgeing around the ceiling....something that should have been done months ago. It looks so much better in there now!! I also sanded, washed, and painted the spot in our downstairs bathroom where Jeff and his dad had removed our old light fixture.
Tomorrow while the kids are napping I plan on touching up some spots in the downstairs hall and applying fresh caulking around the counters in the kitchen and upstairs bath....and then we should be done....until next weekend at least!

FINALLY......
.....we have interent!!!!!! It went out Thurs. evening and we couldn't figure out what was wrong despite calling our cable company and trying to trouble-shoot the issue. The earliest they could send someone out was this morning and it turns out that our modem basicly died. It was still under warrenty--all of for the next two days--so they were able to replace it for free! I'm glad we have internet again....it's crazy how dependent we are on it. I just got through balancing my checkbook online and I know Jeff can't wait to play World of Warcraft when he gets home....which might be early since we are under a winter storm advisory and are suppose to get 3-5 in. of snow! YAY!!!!!!!!!! We haven't had snow for a couple of years now!

Just Another Day
Not much going on here....just the same old. Last night we went to Golden Corral for dinner with some friends. It was, of course, delicious even though my teeth and mouth were hurting whenever I chewed cause I had been to the dentist for a cleaning less than two hours before.
Tonight Jeremie, Cherisa, and Emil are coming over for a movie night. It should be fun, and I'm gonna see if they're up for another round of Phase 10! We definitely gotta start getting together like this more often!!
Before I hopped in the shower this morning, Jessica had found one of our cheap old flashlights that was left laying around upstairs. She kept asking, "Turn it on mommy....please!" So I did and while I was showering, I could tell every time she came in the bathroom. Even though I could hardly hear her footsteps, I could see the light shining through the shower curtain or zig-zagging across the ceiling. I laughed and then she woulod giggle. It was cute.
Nowadays when she's being to loud and I have to tell her to "shhhhh," she replies, "Don't tell me to shhhh, mommy." AND a couple of weeks ago I was on the phone while she was watching Dora. I guess I was talking to loud cause she told me to "shush!!!" Seriously.....when did she get so big.....and bossy for that matter!!!!

They're Gone
Meemaw and Peepaw left early yesterday morning. It was so nice having them visit since it's been almost a year since they were last up here. We had a blast going shopping, eating out, and staying up until about 1:00 every night playing Phase 10. They helped us with sooooo much around the house--teaching us how to put up baseboards, patching up the hole in the dining room ceiling, and updating several light fixtures. Our downstairs bathroom is almost totally complete now! I'll post some pics soon. George and Teresa--Thank you sooooooo much for everything!!

They're Almost Here!
Jessica's been bathed and is in bed....that is if she'll quit getting up and knocking on the door. The house is clean. And....Jeff's parents should be here in less than 2 hours....YAY!!!!!! Jeff took two days of leave and I told Cherisa to use her back-up child-care for the next two days so we would have time to visit and have fun. It's going to be a great weekend!!!

Happy Birthday to Me!!!!!!
I'm 27!!!!!!.....don't really feel like it though. Some days I feel younger; some days I feel older--having a two-year old does that to you, I guess. She keeps coming up to me and feeding me imaginary food, lol! As for any huge celebrating or parties....we did enough of that on New Year's. I forgot how funny Jeff gets when he drinks too much.....quite entertaining!!!
Jeff and Jessica did let me sleep in this morning and I was woken up by my sweet little girl saying, "Happy Birthday Mommy!" That definetely made my day! Here in a little bit we're going to Wal-Mart to buy my birthday present--a new camera since I curse/hate the one I have. And then tonight we're gonna order Outback carside-to-go and just hang out here....maybe see what's playing OnDemand.
Hope everyone is enjoying the new year!!!!!!!
